I've said it before and I'll say it again. Pioneer Woman has a recipe for the Best Lasagna. Ever.
I made it last night, before we left the house for a birthday party. I had intended to have it prepared so I could cook it for dinner the next day. Well, that grandiose plan was demolished due to a nasty storm that came in from nowhere. Before we knew it the birthday party had been cancelled and our house had no power. Great.
If you're a parent with small children and your power goes out, you know the feeling. What the hell am I supposed to do with these kids now? The idea of checking into a nearby hotel did cross my mind-- more than once.
Lucky for us, a very long hour later, our power was restored. And that lasagna in the fridge was calling our names.
I threw it in the oven and 30 minutes later, this was the view at our house:
Now I know you're asking yourself: Does she not give her kids eating utensils? Well let me assure you, we all had forks. It was just that much easier to shove the yummy mess down your throat by using your fist (as conveyed in the two previous photos).
See! I had a fork! Let me tell you. This was AMAZING. Little Jack slept a solid 11 hours last night (thank you Pioneer Woman for putting us all in a food coma). Guess what we're having tonight? LEFTOVERS! I'm sure Jacky will be pleased! Do yourself a favor and make this! It's AMAZING.
